SOX Project Manager

Brand Energy & Infrastructure Services, Inc. is the largest scaffolding services provider in North America. Scaffolding services include equipment rentals and sales, structure design and project planning, the erection and dismantling of scaffolding and, to a lesser extent, the supply of temporary labor to the construction industry. Brand competes primarily in the Industrial segment of the scaffolding industry, providing scaffolding services to oil and chemical refineries, utilities, and pulp and paper facilities to support on-going maintenance, turnarounds or shutdowns, and capital improvements.  The company has doubled in size over the last three years to nearly $700M in revenue and our future growth prospects remain strong.

 

Position Summary

Brand currently has an opportunity available for a SOX Project Manager.  The company is required to be SOX compliant by the end of 2007.  The Project Manager will play a lead role in developing comprehensive internal control procedures, conduct management testing and site audits and implement a long-term systematic approach for the ongoing maintenance of the company?s control matrix and monthly compliance.  Post-implementation, the Project Manager will support ongoing process enhancement initiatives and conduct recurring internal control audits. 

 

Essential Job Functions

? Develop, implement, monitor and manage the Company?s Section 404 Compliance Process including scope review, process documentation and the identification, testing, evaluation and effectiveness of key controls

? Assessment of internal controls over financial reporting relative to the Company's accounting processes in US and Canada

? Perform business process reviews, evaluating risks to the Company and analyze internal controls designed to mitigate those risks

? Perform internal control testing for compliance with SOX including creation of audit programs and working papers, updating the risk control matrix and drafting audit reports

? Populate and analyze segregation of duties matrix

? Utilizing the COSO framework, to guide Finance Department through Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 compliance

? Conducting internal audits including substantive testing and suggestions for improvements

? Communicate results to Management, both verbally and written

 

Qualifications



Bachelor?s degree in accounting

CPA and/or MBA preferred

 

Professional Experience
4+ years of experience in internal auditing or public accounting

Knowledge and hands-on experience of SOX requirements, documentation and testing

Experience of accounting and audit standards and exposure to COSO Internal Control framework

Strong technical accounting and analytical skills

Strong written and verbal communication skills, and proven people and organizational skills

Ability to travel 50% of the time

Ability to use Microsoft Office software

Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
