Purpose of Position:
To serve as the key financial representative of the market area for month close reporting and to provide financial support to the market area personnel on budget management and policies & procedures.

Job responsibilities include:
Month end close reporting including, but not limited to:
- Journal entries (Accruals, Prepaids, Reclassifications); expense accounting
- Balance Sheet Reconciliations
- Variance explanations to budget and prior year related to Administrative, Local Marketing, Sales Support, and Consumer Incentive spending.
- Comparisons across geographies
- Management reports on key financial procedures
Annual and quarterly budget preparation
- Assist in the preparation, roll-up, and review of annual budgets, quarterly profit forecasts, and latest estimates for consumer incentives, sales support, local marketing and administrative costs.
- Prepare Balance Sheet Forecasts
Provide on-going financial support to field Sales & Marketing personnel (customer service focused). Includes understanding of financial concepts and procedures as well as financial systems.
- Provide financial support with budget owner checkbooks
- Implement new financial policies & procedures and provide on-going training as well as support to ensure compliance.
- Assist market area in executing local Sales & Marketing contracts within the policy and procedure guidelines.
- Assist Marketing or Sales Manager with programming analysis; expense tracking and maintaining effective budget structure
- -Assist with the tracking of distributor investments
- -Assist in analysis of activity expense comparisons across geographies to develop and share best financial practices
Assist in monitoring internal controls and compliance to company policies and legal/regulatory requirements. Includes assisting with internal and external audits.

This position requires the following knowledge and experience:

An Accounting or Finance degree
Four to six years work experience preferred
Background in the consumer goods industry preferred
Understanding of business and its functions.
Familiarity with accounting principles.
Strong knowledge of PC systems including Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with SAP preferred
Strong work ethic.
