Dollar Thrifty Automotive Group, Inc. a fortune 1000 company and leader in the car rental industry headquartered in Tulsa, OK seeks a Section Manager, Tax for our Tax Department. This individual will be responsible for preparing and filing state business tax returns and property tax returns, researching various tax issues, and monitoring tax laws and regulations.  Supervises Tax Coordinators. The ideal candidate will be able to contribute by performing the following functions:

 

? Prepare and file sales and use tax returns and property tax returns; monitor and ensure business tax compliance.

 

? Review tax returns prepared by internal and external preparers.

 

? Implement and monitor procedures to ensure the company collects the appropriate taxes from customers.

 

? Work with corporate accounting departments to identify and obtain information required for tax compliance and resolving over/under issues.

 

? Conduct special projects as required, including tax research pertaining to business tax requirements, new locations, etc.

 

? Select, assign, train and evaluate subordinate personnel and recommend or initiate associated personnel actions.

 

? Work with supervisor to conduct sales tax audits, respond to requests for information, summarize audit results, and recommend action on audit findings.

 

? Perform related responsibilities as required or assigned.

 

Other required qualifications include:

 

? Working knowledge of multi-state business tax compliance for a retail taxpayer.

? Working knowledge of general ledger accounting systems and procedures.

? Demonstrated supervisory skills with the ability to train, motivate and improve the performance of subordinates.

? Ability to coordinate timely receipt of necessary information and manage work flow to meet deadlines.

? Solid organizational skills.

? Ability to pay close attention to detail.

? Strong technical skills in the use of personal computers, including spreadsheet design and analysis and tax research.

? Ability to operate 10-key by touch.

? Ability to research, analyze and prepare written communication for interpretation.

Equivalent Education/Experience

?  Bachelor?s Degree in Accounting, Tax or a related discipline.

?  Certified Public Accountant preferred.

?  At least five to six years of related tax experience, preferably in a national public accounting firm or corporate tax department, including at least two years of related supervisory experience.
