Senior Accountant - Enterprise Shared Services, Finance - Columbus, Ohio

The Senior Accountant is responsible for the complex activities associated with maintaining ledger accounts and for developing financial analysis and reporting. May provide functional advice or training to less experienced auditors/accountants. Administers outbound billing/freight claim system and reports expenses to retail business units on a weekly and or monthly basis. Coordinates monthly balance sheet reconciliations and collects, reviews and analyzes Domestic black book schedules. Typically reports to AP Freight Team Manager. Position is in Freight Accounts Payable. Must possess the ability to:

-Perform weekly reconciliation of freight claims
-Prepare and or review monthly journal entries
-Analyze domestic freight, coordinate monthly meetings with Domestic Transportation teams
-Prepare and monitor black book schedules (asset, liability, and expense schedules) on a monthly basis and attend monthly balck book meetings
-Maintain and monitor legacy freight payment applications and reporting from systems
-Prepare seasonal reporting on vendor volumes for the company
-Complete special projects as assigned to fulfill informational requirements of senior management

-Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance preferred
-Advanced degree or CPA a plus
-Three to five years of accounting or equivalent experience in Payroll, Financial Reporting, General Ledger, Sales Audit, Credit, Cash, Import, Real Estate, Inventory Control, AP as appropriate
-Strong attention to detail coupled with analytical skills
-Ability to manage time effectively and efficiently
-Excellent written and verbal communication skills
-Strong organizational skills
-Strong communication skills to lead Domestic Team forward
-PC skills including MS Excel, Word, SAP, Powerpoint
