The Senior Financial Analyst for Sony Electronics assists in the month-end accounting close process which includes the preparation and processing of journal entries and account reconciliations for the Sony Logistics of America (SLA) Division. This position concentrates on the preparation and presentation of financial and operational analysis and is actively involved in developing, maintaining, and supporting financial reports. This position is responsible for the overall analysis of financial statements and accounts to ensure they are fairly stated in accordance with GAAP and the preparation of monthly financial/operational reporting packages. This person assists in the preparation of budgets, actual vs. budget variance analyses and financial reports that satisfy both division and/or corporate management. This Individual will analyze and track project initiatives, analyze departmental costs, audit vendor invoices, support operations managers with the monthly SG&A analysis and provide strategy recommendations. Providing training and guidance to less experienced staff and/or non-financial personnel is also required. This position also provides effective financial and accounting support to the Manager - Financial Analysis, for Carson Logistics Center and International Operations departments and other groups as needed.



? 5 to 6 years of related experience required


? BS/BA degree in Finance/Accounting required


? Excellent PC skills necessary (i.e. Excel, Hyperion, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)


? Prior Oracle General Ledger or other Corporate General Ledger system experience preferred


? Excellent communication, organization, and problem solving skills


? Ability to handle multiple and diverse projects simultaneously


? Excellent understanding of GAAP





? Strong business acumen


? CPA, CMA or MBA helpful, but not required.
