Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting

The Senior Accountant - Financial Reporting will provide support with internal and external reporting processes for national company.

 

Responsibilities
A principal requirement of this position includes assisting the Manager of Internal Reporting and Director of SEC Reporting in meeting regular monthly and quarterly deadlines for internal and external reporting.

Additional duties of this position include keeping current with external reporting requirements dictated by the SEC and the various financial reporting and accounting standards setting boards (FASB, IASB, EITF, etc.) to properly determine accounting policy and disclosures and their impact on the company.

Additional Duties Include:
1. Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual reports to shareholders and the SEC (10Qs and 10K) in accordance with GAAP and SEC requirements.
2. Facilitate external auditor?s review of quarterly and annual reports to shareholders and the SEC.
3. Maintain ongoing monitoring of regulatory and reporting issues impacting the financial statements.
4. Work with assistant controllers to ensure accounting is performed in compliance with GAAP.
5. Provide support, as needed, to Director of SEC Reporting and Manager of Internal Reporting.
6. Train as back-up for internal and external financial reporting functions.

Minimum Qualifications:
? Bachelor?s degree in accounting
? CPA certification
? 2-3 years experience preparing financial statements on a multi-company basis.
? 2 years experience preparing financial models or forecasting.
? 2 years public accounting experience or SEC reporting experience.
? Intermediate to advanced proficiency in spreadsheets (MS Excel).
? Experience with a report writer application (Hyperion Reports or Essbase preferred).
? Detailed knowledge of general ledger systems.
? Must be detail-oriented with good organization skills.
? Problem solving and strong analytical skills.
