Senior Analyst, Ledgers and Consolidations

As a member of the Financial Information Management organization, Senior Analyst, Hyperion Team will play a significant role in the maintenance and support of the Hyperion application.   Specifically, the Senior Analyst, Hyperion Team can expect to perform systems and unit testing, data loads/consolidation, system maintenance and end user support. In addition, this position will assist leaders in the Financial Information Management organization that have primary functional and operational responsibility for all of Marriott?s production financial planning and reporting systems, supporting U.S. and international Marriott business entities as well as Marriott managed and owned hotel operations. 

 

Expected Contributions:

Overall ?

? Execute and Oversee process of loading data to corporate Hyperion instance from regional offices, international hotel property SUN, PSGL and EPM.  Ensure appropriate data integrity controls and validations are in place.

? Coordinate and communicate with international regional offices to ensure alignment of corporate and regional Hyperion instances.

? Improve, streamline and document Hyperion data loading and validation procedures. 

? Assist the Financial Information Management leadership team to establish and maintain the integrity of a global financial information infrastructure that will better meet the financial planning and reporting needs of the global finance function today and create flexibility to accommodate evolving future business needs. 

? Execute day-to-day accounting system operations as directed by Hyperion Team Lead, FIM Financial Systems Business Support.

? Perform system maintenance updates as directed by Hyperion Team Lead, FIM Financial Systems Business Support.

? Identify and help implement best-practice processes and information systems for enterprise accounting and consolidation.

? Provide in-depth business and discipline knowledge in support of accounting, consolidation and reporting information systems especially related to multi-currency transactions. 

? With Information Resources, analyze, define, design, test, and implement complex system upgrades and enhancements while satisfying system change standards. 

? Work collaboratively with clients to understand complexities of the business and ensure timely exchange of information and customer satisfaction.  

? Monitor key performance measures and audit control outputs of accounting, consolidation, and/or reporting information systems.

? Monitor and/or manage report inventories, batch schedules, and system availability as assigned.

? Update and maintain assigned FIM Policies & Procedures.

? Provide Tier 2-level and/or Tier 3-level support for accounting, consolidation, and/or reporting information systems. 

? Collaborate and consult with other key functional areas including IRAS.

? Together with other FIM associates, contribute to balanced scorecard results for the Enterprise Accounting Services Division and finance discipline initiatives.

 

 

 

Candidate Profile:

 

Experience

? Experience (five or more years) in Financial Information Management and enabling technologies, in a global organization

? Experience with Hyperion preferred

? Familiarity with accounting processes (Marriott-specific accounting knowledge preferred)

? Experience with multi-currency accounting including revaluation and translation, including understanding of related system processes

? Lodging/hospitality industry experience preferred

Education or Certification

? Baccalaureate degree in Accounting, Finance, Information Systems or related work experience

Knowledge and Skills

? Knowledge of data/information management

? Knowledge of global accounting and finance processes and systems

? Knowledge of development and system change methodologies

? Knowledge in generally accepted accounting principles and controls

? Strong service orientation
