Senior Associate - State & Local Tax

KPMG LLP is the audit, tax and advisory firm with the strongest growth record over the past decade. We offer our clients industry insights and a multidisciplinary range of services. We currently seek a Tax Senior Associate to join us in our Portland office.

KPMG?s State and Local Tax (SALT) practice assists clients as they work to reduce their tax liabilities and enhance the bottom line. As a national practice, SALT is committed to bringing some of the best professionals to each engagement and providing dynamic tax services to clients.

Responsibilities:
* Report directly to SALT Managers in the area practice and support both the Sales and Transaction tax and Income and Incentive tax practices
* Assist multi-state companies with state and local tax issues
* Help prepare clients for discussions with auditors, represent the client at hearings and appeal meetings, and prepare protests
* Assist state and local tax professionals with tax planning, refund analysis, nexus review and contractual registrations
* Research and draft technical memoranda regarding income and incentive tax questions



Qualifications:
* Two years of experience performing tax research and providing technical advice on multi-state tax issues
* Bachelor?s degree in Business, Accounting, or a related course of study from an accredited college/university
* Excellent writing, communication, and tax research skills
* Demonstrated ability and desire to perform in a high-energy team environment
