My client located in the Washington DC Metropolitan area is a leading global company, with 2005 revenues of $11 billion.  Their 30,000 employees are committed to operational excellence and meeting the world's growing business needs.  In as little as over two decades, the company has transformed from an ambitious concept to industry leader.  This growth is the result of bold and innovative development projects in the face of daunting challenges.  Due to this amazing growth they are currently searching for a Senior Capital Investment Analyst, Financial Planning.

This position will assist and coordinate the corporate-wide forecasting, planning, and
Reporting of capital expenditures; prepare the analyses of forecast variances versus
Budget, and assist in the evaluation of capital expenditure proposals.  The Senior Capital
Investment Analyst, Financial Planning will report to the Director, Capital Reporting &
Evaluation.

Responsibilities:
? Coordinate or assist in the company-wide monthly forecast and annual planning process for capital expenditures
? Coordinate and review monthly forecasting process across the company
? Analyze corporate, business and operating location forecasts for reasonableness and consistency
? Prepare actual & forecast variance analysis versus budget and prior year
? Prepare presentation of Forecasts and Annual Plans to senior management
? Assist in the preparation of analysis or reports for the monthly results package (CEO package, monthly management report, Board of Directors report)
? Identify process improvements and system enhancements to simplify and streamline process, be responsive to changing management needs
? Analyze corporate and business forecasts and develop appropriate commentary for different audiences ? identify key trends, items for follow up
? Work with businesses to develop capital project pipeline that is provided to senior management
? Work with businesses to prepare and evaluate capital investment business cases.  Strive for consistency in definition and methodology.
? Assess various business scenarios and translate changing economic, regulatory and other local conditions into financial implications
? Design and prepare senior management presentations of corporate/business operating results for Executive Office and Board of Directors? meetings
? Continuously assess and develop appropriate information for senior management
? Respond to senior management requests
? Perform analysis of financial results when requested
? Participate in special projects

Education and Background

? BS in Finance and/or Accounting
? CPA and/or MBA highly desirable
? 5-8  years experience in financial areas with high degree of concentration in financial analysis, capital investment analysis, budgeting, forecasting and senior management presentation support

 

Salary/Pay Rate: 80K Plus
