DUTIES:

 

?  Performs internal and external financial reporting and general ledger processing activities which are in compliance with SEC reporting requirements and U.S. GAAP.

?  Reviews accounting policies and practices; researches accounting issues with respect to existing and evolving U.S. GAAP; documents accounting policy and practice conclusions.

?  Evaluates and recommends accounting policies and practices for significant or complex business transactions.

?  Performs assigned internal control procedures to insure ongoing compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley legislation for maintaining an effective system of internal control over financial reporting.

?  Supports ongoing implementation of ERP platform and other financial reporting automation initiatives.

?  Performs assigned duties with respect to account analysis and preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and footnote disclosures.

 



COMPENSATION: Commensurate with relevant experience.  In addition, participates in company success sharing bonus program, which is dependent on the airline meeting quarterly unit cost, operational performance and customer satisfaction goals.

 

EDUCATION: Bachelor?s degree in accounting required. CPA required, or progressing through late stages of completion of individual CPA certification requirements.  Post-graduate education a plus.

 

BACKGROUND AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

 

?  Requires a minimum of 3-5+ years experience. Experience in public accounting strongly desired.

?  Requires 3+ years experience in preparing U.S. GAAP financial statements and footnote disclosures.

?  Requires proven U.S. GAAP technical accounting and financial reporting skills.

?  Require proven experience in researching, concluding upon and communicating complex GAAP issues.

?  Requires strong written and oral communication skills.

?  Requires strong capacity for teamwork and collaboration with colleagues across the airline.

?  Experience with ERP accounting platforms is a plus; ORACLE experience highly desired.

?  Experience with SEC financial reporting requirements is a plus.

?  Experience with Sarbanes-Oxley Section 404 internal control compliance is a plus.

?  Airline industry experience is a plus.
