We currently have an opportunity for Senior Cost Accountant to join us. The Senior Cost Accountant will be primary responsible for collecting, analyzing, reporting, and controlling costs related to US inventory and gross margins.

 

 

Responsibilities:Lead the development and maintenance of standard costs. Lead the mapping of product codes and maintenance of cost accounting item master records. Lead the closing of US Work Orders and analyzing Work Order Variances. Performing high level reconciliations, journal entries, analysis, and reporting related to US inventory and gross margins. Coordinate and conduct field and in-house physical inventory counts, complete the associated reconciliations, record and report the results, and implement process controls. Provide support for internal and external audits. Identify, analyze and implement cost savings opportunities. Identify, support, and implement functional and cross-functional process improvements. Represent Finance on cross-functional project or process teams. Prepare estimates of new and proposed product or service costs. Develop, implement, and maintain cost accounting systems. Presentations to various departments and all levels of the organization. Comply with Sarbanes-Oxley testing and requirements. Other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:BA/BS degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Minimum of 5 years (of manufacturing cost accounting experience in a standard costing environment. CMA a plus US travel required (estimated 25%). Some international travel may be required (approx 10%). Demonstrated, strong analytical and technical skills. Demonstrated, high level of attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated, strong communication and organizational skills. Proficient in MSEXCEL, MSWORD, etc. Demonstrated, high level of knowledge of ERP systems and the interrelationships of the various functional modules (BOM, GL, INV, etc.) Demonstrated knowledge of applying GAAP and cost accounting concepts and principles. Demonstrated high level of knowledge and experience in standard cost systems, variance analysis, overhead assignments, and cost reduction activities. Ability to understand, coordinate, and problem solve with other financial functions (GL, A/P, A/R, Payroll, Tax, Planning, and Budgeting). Ability to independently complete more complex and challenging accounting tasks on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy. Uses skills as a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices and company policies and procedures; resolves a wide range of issues in imaginative as well as practical ways. Works on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors.  Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.  Interacts with senior internal personnel.
