Senior Cost Accountant / Plant Accountant

This large publicly traded manufacturing company with facilities nationwide is looking for a qualified Senior Cost Accountant for their plant located outside of San Angelo, Texas.  This person will oversee all accounting, finance, and operational activities for two different plants, and will report directly to the Division Controller.

The Senior Cost Accountant will be responsible for the following:Developing strategic plans and operating budgetsTimely and successful completion of all month end close duties as they relate to inventory and fixed assets Creating financial statements on a monthly basis Preparing monthly forecasts and annual budgets Reconciling general ledger accountsAnalyzing operational performance and identifying areas where improvements are possibleEvaluating expenses and cost standards for ultimate efficiencySupervising a staff of two direct reports

The Senior Cost Accountant must possess the following minimum requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance coupled with a GPA of at least 3.03 - 5 years of cost accounting or general accounting experience in a manufacturing setting Ability to successfully complete all accounting functions as they relate to the month end close Strong knowledge of the budget and forecasting processFluent in Microsoft Office; knowledge of an ERP software is strongly preferredStrong leadership skills, coupled with excellent written and oral communication skills
