Senior Cost Accountant - direct hire (431A-3379691a)

Our client, an established international organization with offices in the Rochester NY area, has an immediate requirement for an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Cost Accountant.

This is a direct hire opportunity for the right individual.


Description:

- Inventory Analysis - provide analysis of inventory by classifications and movement types. Compare to previous months and analyze main differences. Excess and Obsolete Review - Provide support of inventory turns and required provisions for slow moving and obsolete inventory.
- Monitor and Oversee Cycle Count Processes and Corresponding Adjustments to Determine and fix root causes.
- Sales/GM reporting - report weekly on orders/sales/gm and analysis of results. Order/Backlog Analysis - report and analyze order intake and backlog analysis including profitability/margin levels.
- Active Overview and Analysis of Material Standards Revaluation Process and Implementation.
- Support Production and Engineering by Performing Material Cost Rolls Variance Analysis - report & analyze main drivers of purchasing variance & manufacturing variance weekly. Analysis of Production Overhead Costs to Budgets and Corresponding Recovery Impacts.
- Assist w/ month end closing, journal entries and account reconciliation as well as report figures to general accounting for financial reporting. CONQ Reporting and Analysis.
- Develop & use SAP reports to supplement analysis.
- Assist in analysis of productivity/efficiency/utilization of direct employees.


Requirements:

- 4 year Accounting or Finance degree, plus 3-6 years of experience in cost accounting and manufacturing systems.

-Strong Microsoft Excel and Access skills.

- Working knowledge/experience in SAP.

-Organized and detail oriented with ability to multi-task.
