Senior Financial Accountant

This position is with a specialty contractor that provides the following turn key services for refineries and petrochemical compies:  Catalyst Handling, Tray Removal and Installation, Non-Coded Internal Vessel Welding and Internal Mechanical Consulting.  Our corporate office is located in La Porte, TX.  We currently have offices in Corpus Christi and Beaumont, TX.  We are in the process of opening two new locations in Louisiana and New Jersey. 

 

The position will be responsible for the following duties:

 

General Accounting

?  Perform close activities including:

?  General ledger postings

?  Audit support and compliance

?  Bank reconciliations

?  Fixed Assets

?  Cash Management

?  Ensure all activity is recorded in GL

?  Load Positive Pay disbursements file to Amegy Bank

?  Tax Filing Preparation

?  Identify possible tax savings

?  Submit 941 weekly payments

?  Prepare tax filings for Cat-Spec, Ltd partners including Cat-Spec, Ltd Partnership taxes

 

Financial Analysis

?  Budgeting

?  Meet with Directors to prepare quarterly budgets by dept/acct

?  Provide actual v. budget status mid-quarter

?  Variance Analysis

?  Track actual v. budget spending

?  Reclass incorrectly coded spending

?  Ad-hoc reporting

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

?  Supervise accounting functions including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Job Cost and Payroll.

 

Education and Experience

We are seeking an individual with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration with a major in Accounting or Finance.  Applicants should have 4+ years related work experience.  CPA preferred, but not required.
