  In this position you will responsible to provide control, analysis and financial reporting support for the McGraw-Hill Companies’ Credit & Collections and Accounts Receivable functions.  To ensure that McGraw-Hill Education and Information & Media segments’ accounts receivable are properly accounted for.  Control the monthly closing process.  Ensure that the corporation’s accounts receivable assets are properly reported on in order to enable Corporate Credit and Accounts Receivable operations, McGraw-Hill Education and Information & Media management to better manage and control their overall business.  Provide functional expertise to improve DSO. Safeguard McGraw-Hill assets and reduce risk by monitoring Accounts Receivable Write-offs and Reserves.

 

 Principal Accountabilities:

   

   Analyze and allocate the MHE/IMS Accounts Receivable by Business Unit based on net AR balances.Prepare MHE/IMS Credit Balance analysis and reclass journal entry.Assist with preparation of MHE/IMS Write-Off allocation and reserve worksheet calculation.Prepare MHE/IMS DSO analysis and reporting.Prepare Accounts Receivable and DSO Blue Book pages.Reconcile key balance sheet accounts.Provide value added reporting to Credit & Collection and Accounts Receivable operations, Segment and Business Unit community.Review existing accounting and systems controls and procedures to insure accuracy and compliance with corporate policies.Work with the AR Operations, Credit and Cash Management Team to help solve issues and gain efficiencies within these areas.Participate in any special projects as assigned by the department manager.

 







 


College degree or equivalent is required.


 


Thorough knowledge of accounting, plus financial reporting experience is preferred to enable the support of month-end closes and monthly reporting.


 


Excellent computer skills are required with emphasis on MS Excel, Access and Word.  Knowledge of Oracle and/or Lawson is a big plus.  Knowledge of accounts receivable and credit & collection operations is also a plus.


 


Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required for professional interaction with credit and accounts receivable management, business unit financial community and corporate accounting.


 


Analytical and problem solving ability is absolutely necessary.


 


Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
