Description
The Senior Financial Reporting Analyst (G&A) will be lead person responsible for the preparation and collation of all the reports from which the North American G&A budget holders will make their business decisions. The activity is of major significance because the Executive Committee members will be using this data to make decisions that will affect the future cost base / use of cash resources for Shire as a Global entity. They will have significant contact with personnel at all levels and in all of Shire's Global sites so will be expected to foster strong relationships not only with the other elements of the G&A Finance team, but with the shared service functions and local site finance teams.

Key Responsibilities
- timely and accurate preparation / collation of budget holder reports for all of Shire's North American sites;
- designing, mapping and updating budget holder reports for all of Shire's North American sites;
- timely discussions with assigned budget holders regarding purchase orders, invoicing and accruals, receipting (in SRM) and capitalization policy;
- timely discussions with assigned budget holders regarding performance against actual results;
- assisting assigned budget holders in preparation of their budgets and forecasts;
- quarterly and annual duties pertaining to the annual budget cycles.


Education and Experience Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree is required; preferably with a finance, accounting or business related major.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience, i.e. finance, accounting and/or public accounting, is required (at least 5 years is preferred).
- Experience with financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and independent project work is required.
- Prior finance/accounting experience working for a manufacturing company, preferably a pharmaceutical company is desirable.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (Access is helpful) is required.
- SAP R/3 and SAP BW experience is required. Other financial ERP or consolidation software, e.g. Hyperion and/or COGNOS, experience is also desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal, and people management skills, i.e., the ability to effectively communicate and interact with peers up to senior management, is required.
- At least a working knowledge of US GAAP, SOX and multi-location/multi-national experience is required.
