Overview of Position

Key responsibilities include planning and controlling various areas of expense and reporting to Senior Management and to Federated Corporate Accounting accurately and quickly. This position requires a candidate who can work with multiple levels of executives within the organization, adapt to a fast paced environment, and who has applicable retail financial experience. This position reports directly to the Controller with frequent interaction with Macy West Principals.:

Key responsibilities

Monthly Close Journal entry and sign off Pyramid Head expense review and analysis Expense variance research

Month End Reporting Research and commentary on expense details for areas of responsibility Supplemental schedules P and L and Gross Margin summaries ROGI Sales by type Expense summaries Miscellaneous income Non-op Cash flow Fixed asset changes Balance sheet variances

Planning

Annual and seasonal expense goals for various assigned areas of responsibility Sales calendarization by location Benchmarking versus other Divisions Goal setting for areas of responsibility Expense plan submission review for accuracy and compliance with goals Submission of planning disks to Federated Corporate Accounting

Additional Assignments Daily sales planning Daily sales flash reporting Rolling operating forecast Ad hoc analysis and reporting

Skills Summary: Strong Excel and Word Strong analytical and organizational skills Ability to interface with all levels of management Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects and meet stringent deadlines Ability to set and be flexible with priorities and use sound judgmentAccounting and retail background preferred Must be an advanced user of Microsoft Excel and ability to learn Federated Proprietary Software (BTR), General Ledger and other Federated Applications
