We are currently seeking a Senior IS Auditor to join our internal audit team in Houston, Texas. In this role, you will plan, execute and supervise complex audits of internal control procedures associated with information system control environments and systems. You will be heavily involved during the development and implementation stages of new systems. Other responsibilities will include reviewing audit programs prepared by other systems auditors and providing technical assistance to financial and external auditors. You will have the opportunity to work with mainframe, AS400, Windows NT, UNIX and Novell systems!
Organization Structure and Interfaces
Across the US, the team consists of 12 individuals and this position reports to the Director of Internal Audit. In this role you will interface with various AIG subsidiaries primarily in the domestic USA and expanding to an international scope, when needed. This position works closely with other accounting/finance teams including Treasury, Financial Reporting and Securities Accounting as well as operational areas.
Performance Objectives
Lead and participate in audits of various platforms and operational areas. Responsible for communicating with the lines of business, planning and scoping audits, performing test work, and reporting results to upper management.
Evaluate complex information systems controls and environments, participate in system development/implementation projects and provide technical assistance to financial and external auditors.
Quickly develop relationships with various internal administration units and key contacts. Build relationships and develop stronger understandings of purposes/processes of assigned accounts within first three months.
Incorporate your strong knowledge foundation of client server, mainframe, and telecommunication technologies into assigned audits within the first few months.
Consistently work toward finding solutions to problems/concerns to satisfy internal customers as well as establish a solid control environment.
Responsible for engagement reviews for staff level auditors. Provide valuable feedback comments and constructive criticism and provide staff members with the resources necessary to accomplish the desired results.
Basic Requirements:
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor?s degree with major emphasis in Business Systems, Computer Science, Accounting or MIS. 3 - 5 years of related experience and the flexibility to travel domestically and internationally 20-30%. Exceptional communication skills a must along with a strong desire to develop and increase IS auditing competencies. Proficiency in MS Office is a must! Knowledge of data extractions software tools (Easytrieve, ACL, SQL0 a plus along with hands on experience of SAP, Peoplesoft,JD Edwards and Navisys). CISA, CISSP, CISM, CIA and/or CPA preferred.
