Senior Property Tax Accountant

Responsibilities:

 

Responsible for property tax compliance including review and processing of real and personal property tax payments in a timely manner.  Handles preparation and review of personal property tax returns and analysis of real and personal property assessments for appeal opportunities.  Conducts research and analysis for preparation of appeal strategies.  Conducts review and analysis of property tax billings from taxing authorities and landlords as appropriate.  Analyzes property additions in new and existing Clubs to determine appropriate classifications as real or personal property to minimize overall tax by location.  Conducts field review and analysis of municipal and county tax records and lease information to gather assessment and descriptive data of similar properties.  Additionally, assists with property tax matters within the tax department and for other departments.  Performs additional duties and/or responsibilities as assigned.

 

Requirements:

 

A minimum of 3-5 years of property tax and accounting experience is required.  Strong organizational, verbal and written communication skills are essential.  Proficiency is required in Excel and Word.  Bachelor?s degree with a preferred major in Accounting or Finance or equivalent work experience is required; MBA or CPA a plus.
