Senior Specialist - Fixed Assets

POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary role will include duties relating to both Fixed Assets Accounting and AFE Project Accounting performed within the Asset and Project module of SAP.

 

ROLES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

Monthly duties include:

?  Prepare monthly accounting entries including:  project settlement, asset set-up, asset retirements, asset movements, AFE accruals, DD&A and dry hole entries.

?  Analyze AFE project accrual information from Operations.

?  Review monthly accounting activity and prepare variance analysis.

?  Review AFE information and WBS element set-up performed by support staff.

?  Monitor AFE activity and timely closing of AFE?s as required.

?  Monitor and direct monthly closing process for area of responsibility.

?  Prepare account reconciliations.

?  Coordinate FAS 143 asset retirement obligations, review and update.

?  Prepare assets impairment analysis for Global E&P

 

The remaining duties occur as required:

?  Prepare quarterly reports of capitalized wells and exploration well activity

?  Prepare statistical reports/surveys.

?  Complete special projects and assist business units as needed.

?  Research and respond to outside audit requests and inquiries.

 

COMPETENCIES:Strong accounting and analytical skills Knowledge of oil & gas accounting Understanding of GAAP for Fixed Assets SAP Asset and Project Module experience, Excel

 

EXPERIENCE:

5 or more years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years of related experience in Fixed Assets accounting with an E&P company preferred

 

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

Bachelor?s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related Business field required

Master?s degree in Accounting or Master?s of Business Administration degree is a plus

Certified Public Accountant certification is a plus
