Senior Tax Accountant - Sales and Use Tax

Payroll-Production Execution Coordinator: 

 

Position Description:

Responsible for assisting the manager with all aspects of sales and use tax compliance for Kellogg Company and its domestic affiliates including; providing data for return preparation, issuing exemption certificates, supporting audits by governmental agencies, training processors as necessary, updating software (Taxware), supporting reverse audits, acting as a key resource for questions relating to the taxability of any transaction, and continuous monitoring of systems and processes to insure that required data remains available for reporting and audit purposes. This position is also responsible for maintaining a system for collecting and maintaining resale certificates from our customers

- Monthly sales and use tax compliance
- Monthly reconciliations
- Support sales and use audit processes
- Help Maintain Taxware
- Trainer and resource for AP processors
- Company resource for sales and use tax questions
- Help support reverse audits
- Issue direct pay and exemption certificates
- Maintain system for collecting and maintaining resale certificates from all customers
- Monitor systems and processes to insure data is available for compliance and audits

This position will encounter critical deadlines and significant time pressure on a
regular basis. CommentsReports to the Manager, Sales and Use Tax. Works closely with the Accounts
Payable and as necessary with Tax Department. Interactions include business unit and field
personnel. External contacts with governmental agencies, consultants performing sales and use tax
projects, and outsourcing return preparation services.


 

Position Requirements:

A bachelor?s degree in accounting is required and CPA is preferred.

A minimum of 3-5 years sales and use tax experience is preferred.

SAP and Taxware experience is preferred.

This position requires the ability to identify and quickly rectify issues encountered in the correct calculation of Kellogg?s sales and use tax liability.

This requires the ability to work with all levels of personnel to deliver timely solutions to issues as they arise.

The position also requires the ability to work with governmental auditors to effectively advocate and defend Kellogg?s filing positions.
