Senior Tax Manager – Veritas Private Advisors

Veritas Private Advisors has a current opening for a Senior Tax Manager.  Veritas is a firm of professional advisors dedicated to help business owners and wealthy families manage their entire net worth.  We serve our clients as their Private Advisors by providing confidential advice that is unique to their perspective and based on their goal set.  We have specialized expertise in complex financial areas that are inherently present with many entrepreneurs, real estate investors and wealthy families.  Our professionals have extensive experience helping clients manage their tax efficiency, negotiate unfamiliar financials situations and develop strategies to increase the value of their overall net worth. 

 

The Senior Tax Manager will provide services for Veritas clients with a primary focus on tax planning and compliance.  Our clients typically have a variety of complex situations including business sales, family gifting, complicated tax structures etc.  Our services also include detailed tax research and tax consulting to clients.  The primary goal for the Senior Manager will be to manage the firm?s compliance business and provide support to the overall mission of Veritas Private Advisors in giving expert and timely advice to our clients. 

 

In this position, you will work with the Principal members of the firm in coordinating outstanding client service.  The Senior Manager will also be tasked with developing and managing staff including being a professional and technical mentor to all staff in the compliance business. 

 

The successful candidate will be accomplished at relating to staff, clients and Principals as well as provide experience within the area of tax compliance and strategy. 

 

Responsibilities: Manage tax compliance business Develop and sustain excellent client and staff relationships Mentor and train staff Keep up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law Leverage technology to maximize productivity. Adhere to the highest degree of professional standards and strict client confidentiality. Excellent supervisory, analytical, and leadership ability Strong written and verbal communication skills Conduct primary and secondary review of complicated or complex income tax returns including Corporate, S-Corp., partnership, trust, estate and individual clients. Research and consult on complex tax matters. Maintain active communication with clients to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction, and to make sure deadlines are met. Attend professional development and training seminars on a regular basis. Perform other job-related duties as necessary. Computer expertise including knowledge of tax software and related technology.

 

Qualifications: At least seven years of tax experience in a public accounting firm Excellent advisory and compliance skills Experience with corporate taxation, partnerships, trusts and individuals Excellent verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate complex financial information Service-oriented with demonstrated outstanding client interaction skills Experience in managing multiple client engagements CPA designation is required BA/BS degree from an accredited college/university in Accounting is required; Master?s degree in Taxation from an accredited college/university is a plus Client-focused and results-driven
