Services Management Consultant (EMC)

Exciting opportunity for a qualified professional with hands-on experience in the design and implementation of EMC software products. Our Infrastructure Solutions Services Management (SM) practice provides strategy, assessment, design and implementation solutions for Public Services clients in all areas of Services Management and ITIL.

We need consultants to lead the design, implementation and integration of EMC IT management tools and processes.

Location/s: Preferred Washington, DC area

Performance Profile:

- Act as the primary delivery resource on engagements as a storage/ILM subject matter expert.

- Provide thought leadership and contribute to the development of storage/ILM based solutions and deliverables in areas such as, SRM software, framework integration, storage area networks, data classification, business continuance.

- Architect framework integration so that different management platforms can share information.

- Contribute to the development of services management solutions and deliverables leveraging the EMC product suite.

- Lead the design and implementation of technology-based solutions.

- Support the design or enhancement of IT-based processes (e.g. Fault, Incident, Configuration Management, etc.)

- Assist in business requirements gathering.

- Assist in business development opportunities and work aggressively to grow the SM practice and its role as a thought leader.

- Manage client relationships.

- Mentor junior team members.

Position-specific Requirements: (editable)

- Strong background in IT operations and/or support (3-7 years)

- Experience with Storage and Information Management (Software/Hardware) solutions using vendors such as EMC (required), and HP, Veritas, Creekpath, StorageTek, Cisco, McData, IBM, Brocade, etc (a plus).

- Experience with EMC Control Center and defining and managing storage alerts.

- Experience with the design and implementation of one or more additional Services Management platforms (HP Openview, BMC Patrol/Remedy, CA Unicenter, etc.) a plus.

- Exposure to operational processes design and improvement and methodologies (e.g. ITIL, eTOM, Six Sigma) a plus.

- Strong Microsoft Office skills - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access.

- Strong client-facing skills - assertiveness, strong communications skills, leadership, self-starter, etc.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

- Must be able to work in a matrix organization and team environments.

- Project Management skills.

- BS or BA Degree in IT, Engineering or Business required.

- Travel more than 50% may be required
