Sr. Accountant / Accounting Manager

The Celebration office of the Ginn Companies, a nationally recognized developer of resort real estate, is seeking an individual for it's corporate accounting department. (Sr. Accountant or Accounting Manager)  This person will be responsible for a variety of functions including but not limited to financial statement preparation, financial statement consolidations, monthly closings, audit support, account reconciliations and potentially staff supervision.

Qualifications include a combination of 3 to 7 years experience in public and private industry accounting inn a corporate role.  Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from a  four-year college or university.   Both CPA designation and real estate experience highly desired.

 

Other essential job functions include but are not limited to:

Prepare and post month end recurring journal entries and reverse the appropriate entries from prior month.

Review and analyze accounting transactions and prepare journal entries as necessary.

Review fixed asset acquisitions to ensure that capital items are being properly accounted for and depreciated.

Assist with responding to outside auditors to provide information and schedules as required.

Maintain a fixed asset subsidiary ledger ensuring that asset depreciation and accumulated depreciation are recording properly from the asset acquisition to disposal date.   Ensure that the subsidiary ledger reconciles to the general ledger on a quarterly basis.

Review of account and departmental coding as input by the Controller's office.  

Assist in the preparation and creation of Standard Operating Procedures for all major cash handling and accounting functions.

A working knowledge of GAAP.

Preparation of Accounting statements within the Timberline Financial statement module.
