Sr. Accountant - Vehicles (Mexico)

Job Summary:
The Senior Accountant position will be responsible for recording and maintaining the vehicle inventory accounting transactions for Mazda de Mexico and will act as the key accounting liaison with the Finance team in Mexico regarding inventory issues. Additionally, the Accountant will prepare monthly reports for all MNAO companies to be distributed to management and prepare quarterly schedules required for audit, MC consolidation and related party reporting. The Accountant will be required to document, summarize and clearly communicate fluctuations in inventory levels and gross profit margins. The position requires a strong knowledge of GAAP as well as analytical abilities in order to troubleshoot and resolve both system and process issues.

Job Duties:
* Prepare monthly account reconciliations of MMdM vehicle inventories and payables.
* Reconcile payables and accruals for MMA and MCI and determine loss reserves for inventories.
* Prepare monthly Units Wholesaled and Gross Margin reports for MMA, MCI and MMdM.
* Prepare quarterly inventory schedules for MC consolidation for MMA, MCI and MMdM.
* Support all audit requirements including schedule preparation, fluctuation analysis and port physical inventory observations for MNAO, MCI and MMdM.
* Communicate with MMdM staff and IT regarding system issues and interface developments.
* Complete special projects as required by management.

Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience)
* 3-5 years experience in a related field
* Calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions and percentages.
* Accounting knowledge and skills including Income Statement and Balance Sheet, journal entry and account reconciliation preparation.
* Prepare and analyze reports using trend and fluctuation analysis.
* Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
* Communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
* Effectively present information.
* Establish and maintain effective relationships.
* Prioritize, organize and complete tasks in accordance with established standards and deadlines.
* Use standard office equipment.
* Use a computer including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
* SAP knowledge preferred.
* Familiarity with QMF or query applications beneficial.
* Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
