Sr. Consultant - Government Contracting

A&C has an immediate opening for a Senior Level Government Contracting Consultant who can contribute significantly to the ever-growing needs of our clients. Ideal candidates are comfortable with providing engagement delivery services both as an individual as well as a team and must be at ease with significant client contact and personal service. The perfect candidate could expect great growth potential in this position, up to the partner level. This individual must be capable of developing a detailed understanding of our Government and Technology Services Group?s business model and quickly be prepared to add substantial value to the practice area. 


The Senior Level Government Contracting Consultant is responsible for combining great creativity, a solid business sense and real world experience to create innovative business solutions that will create both expected and unexpected value. An effective consultant will not only effectively manage current clients, but will be driven to grow the client base and create a stand-alone consulting niche within the Group. The model applicant will have strong conversational negotiation skills and be comfortable interacting at the Board Room level; sales and marketing know-how is second nature to this person. 
Essential Functions: 
**  Working directly with government contracting clients demonstrating knowledge and expertise in the concepts, practices, and procedures of government contracting, including DCAA, FAR (Federal Acquisition Regulations) & CAS (Cost Accounting Standards)
**  Mentoring and building new staff through effective leadership and motivation
**  Providing supervision, training and guidance on the following types of projects:
? Incurred cost submissions
? Accounting policy & procedures
? Proposals
? Contract close-outs
? Negotiations with contracting officers or DCAA representatives
? Budgeting?Rate structuring
**  Providing high-level strategic solutions to our clients
Secondary Functions:
**  Occasionally representing Professional Services in cross-functional meetings and team projects
**  Interfacing productively with the various business units at A&C
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
**  10+ years of government contracting experience with specific focus on DCAA, FAR, and CAS
**  Bachelor?s degree in Accounting
**  Demonstrated written communication and oral presentation skills
**  Working knowledge of FAR and ability to interpret and explain contractual requirements
**  Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
**  Experience working within a government contractor at many different levels
**  Demonstrated history of working with emerging companies to larger organizations
**  Experience at middle market firms rather than large international contractors
**  Excellent analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to deal with situations where information is difficult to obtain, complex or ambiguous
**  Proven organization and teamwork skills
**  Ability to manage multiple priorities within expected timelines
**  Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
**  Self-motivated and self-managed
**  Enjoys working in a collaborative environment
