Sr. Cost Analyst
COST ACCOUNTANT
Olin Corporation, one of the world?s best basic materials companies and a leading North American producer of copper alloys and ammunition has an opportunity for a Sr. Cost Analyst at our East Alton, Illinois location.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF BASIC FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (Note: not to be construed as all inclusive)
? Responsible for monthly closing activities including journal entry preparation, inventory reconciliation, and account analysis.
? Prepare monthly inventory trends as well as comparative reports for distribution to management.
? Prepare monthly hedging analysis and associated reconciliations and forecastings.
? Ensure inventory and metals procurement business processes are performed in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley documentation.
? Prepare inventory, price variance, hedging, and associated balance sheet account budgets.
? Ensure financial integrity of annual physical inventory process by coordinating the audit function and preparing financial results for both East Alton and Oxford. Also perform quarterly cycle counts in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
? Perform analysis of actual results vs. forecast, identifying trends and recommending alternative courses of action.
? Develop and maintain additional financial measurements as needed.
? Supervise Cost Accountant.
POSITION REQUIREMENT
1. BS/BA in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
2. Minimum five years Accounting experience required, Cost Accounting preferred.
3. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
4. Strong analytical, organizational, prioritization, and written and oral communication skills required.
5. Self motivated.
6. Knowledge of SAP system, a plus.
