Senior Financial Analyst ? Accounting Policy and M&A

 

Job Summary:This person will be responsible for researching, analyzing and evaluating the accounting and financial reporting implications of complex business transactions. The position involves writing new and updating existing accounting position memos and policies. A major component of the position will consist of reviewing due diligence and integration aspects of business acquisitions.

 

We will consider individuals with various levels of experience.  Compensation and title will be commensurate with experience.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

 Research and document complex GAAP accounting issues.  Draft, review and validate accounting policies.  Ensure that accounting policies are updated by business process owners and appropriately approved on a periodic basis.Structure acquisitions, divestitures and other complex business arrangements within accounting and reporting requirements. Assist with financial due diligence and acquisition integration activities.Support the preparation of SEC filings.Communicate with internal management and external parties. Consult on projects in the areas of accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls and acquisition integration.

 

Qualifications At least 4 years of Big 4 experience and/or similar experience with a medium to large public company, preferably in the high-tech industry.Bachelor?s degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA is required.  MBA is a plus. Solid understanding of recent accounting pronouncements and complex accounting interpretations. Practical knowledge of general accounting practices with the networking and high-tech industry. Experience with merger and acquisitions accounting, specifically due diligence, asset impairment and financial reporting (not required but a plus). Excellent written and oral communication skills.Strong grasp of internal control practices and principles (COSO, PCAOB). Understanding of accounting systems such as Oracle, Business Objects and Peoplesoft (experience with Oracle Financials is a plus).Able to work in a fast paced environment and comply with tight deadlines.
