Senior GL Analyst



CKE Restaurants, Inc. (CKE), through its subsidiaries, franchisees and licensees, operates some of the most popular U.S. regional brands in quick-service and fast-casual dining, including the Carl-s Jr., Hardee-s, La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill and Green Burrito restaurant brands.



Qualifications:



Analyze & reconcile balance sheet & profit and loss accounts by reviewing the general ledger detail, A/P, A/R, Asset Management, and other subsystems to determine what data was posted to the accounts, the time period that the data relates to, and what functions to perform related to the data. Preparation of journal entries to accrue for outstanding invoices; record self insurance claims, fees, and administration costs to the proper accounts, expense prepaid to the proper period, reclass construction to Asset Management, allocate G&A expense to proper costcenter or department. Prepare balance sheet & profit and loss analytic for outside auditors and supply audit workpapers on request. Communicate with Operations concerning inquiries from the Controller regarding the profit & loss statements. Special projects on request-any project related to general accounting department, which includes analysis of actual data in the balance sheet or profit & loss statements, internal & external reporting, audit requests, etc.



Analysis is performed to determine if the general ledger and financial statements are accurately stated within GAAP requirements. It is important to understand accounting theory as well as GAAP guidelines in order to perform the analysis.



Position requires minimal supervision. Once an individual is trained on a function they should not require additional guidance or direction unless unforseen circumstances arise.

Analysis of various balance sheet and profit & loss accounts utilizing the general ledger, subsystems and financial statements indirect impact through research and analysis.

Operations district managers, regional vice presidents, restaurant general managers, Accounts Payable/Receivable Departments, Cash/Sales Department, Reprographics Department.



Requirements:



Bachelor degree in Accounting preferred.

Proficient in Excel & Microsoft Word and PeopleSoft

Experience working with computerized financial accounting system

Previous experience working in a General Accounting Department.

Experience in account analysis.

Experience working with outside auditors.
