Sr. Inventory Accountant

Dynamic Orange County based firm seeks a Sr. Accountant for a 4 month contract

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Month-end reconciliation and reporting. Work with Corporate Accounting to resolve month-end issues.
Monitor and analyze inventory processes and controls.
Reconcile and manage capital assets. Ensure accurate accounting and analysis of capital assets, including depreciation, capital budgets and ROI analysis.
Provide quick and accurate update of "GAAP Analysis" schedules and review actual-to-GAAP required accrual levels.
Understand trends by business unit/product including sales, cost, and product margins as posted to the GL each month. Review daily trended data and research, and provide explanation when margins fluctuate beyond threshold limits.
Perform special projects and other duties as may be assigned

BS/BA Accounting, Finance
3-5 years of specialized knowledge with accounting principles and process.
Working proficiency with full MS Office professional suite with advance use in Excel.
Experience with Oracle and Discoverer an asset.
Ability to work independently and with other Finance and Divisional team members.
Business experience with general accounting and an understanding of financial statements.
Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy.
Excellent analytical skills with the ability to resolve issues.
Ability to work across departmental and division lines with staff members and management.
