Sr. Manager Financial Strategies & Analysis

Job Description: The position is responsible for the financial strategies and analytic support for one or more credit card portfolios. The candidate selected will:



Provide strategic and analytical financial support to business partners, including but not limited to Marketing and Risk;



Perform and manage others to produce financial modeling, trend analysis, forecasts, profitability analysis and DCF / NPV valuations;



Develop a deep understanding of, and articulate to partners, the key drivers of the financial performance of the portfolio(s);



Clearly explain the rationale for analytical results, including the process through which assumptions are developed;



Ensure consistent forecast and analysis quality;



Manage / oversee multiple complex business initiatives;



Ensure deadlines are met;



Proactively seek ways to improve our analytical methodologies, processes and procedures in order to meet the evolving strategic and tactical needs of the organization;



Manage, assign, and review ad hoc projects for the business unit and occasionally across broader financial lines;



Prepare and present recommendations to Senior Management; and



Lead, manage, develop, motivate and ensure the training of his/her staff, maximizing their value to the organization while providing for professional growth and career development.

Job Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance or a quantitative field, and MBA with Finance / Accounting major preferred, or the equivalent experience required. Financial services experience is preferred, consumer lending experience is ideal.
Supervisory experience is preferred. Five to seven or more years of business experience is required in a financial or related discipline, including time spent in financial analysis and forecasting. Strong analytical skills are required. The candidate must have a high level of understanding of financial forecasting / modeling techniques with a proven record of employing innovative solutions to analytical challenges. The successful candidate will have demonstrated an aptitude for working with different levels of management across multiple functional units. Finally, the successful will be a self-starter, have strong partnering and problem-solving abilities and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
