Description:
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, this position plays a pivotal role in architecting, designing, and managing applications associated with trust/tax portfolio accounting, related operations, and compliance. Previous experience working with software development in the financial services industry is preferred.
Position Responsibilities and Requirements
Architect and Design: Designs core systems solutions and integrates vendor applications into processes and workflows. This role is responsible for every phase of application and system lifecycle development.
Project Management: Able to manage and lead cross-functional teams (5-15 in size). Familiarity with multiple development methodologies such as RAD, JAD, and RUP. Ability to manage the Systems Development Lifecycle from inception through deployment. Participates in business process engineering efforts to optimize processes, reduce risk, and improve efficiencies. Establishes project goals, scope, schedules, budget, and resources.
Communication and Collaboration: Comfortable working with business owners to align strategic application initiatives with business priorities. Able to communicate strategic and tactical status and implications to senior management. Effectively communicates with technical specialists, and business end-users.
Technical Background: Strong working knowledge of financial accounting systems including portfolio accounting, tax, performance reporting, trust management. Web development (Java and .NET). SQL server in a clustered, fault tolerant environment. Programming experience (Visual Basic, Java, C++, .NET).
The Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate has program office management level experience and demonstrated success in designing custom-built applications with complex data design requirements. A track record of building relationships with business owners, stakeholders, vendors, and technical staff is essential. Bachelor?s degree required.
