Kemper Insurance Companies is seeking a Sr. Reinsurance Accountant with extensive reinsurance accounting experience.
Job description/Qualifications:
Responsibilities will include: detailed account reconciliation of premiums, reserves, loss payables, collateral and reinsurance cessions. In addition to generating appropriate cessions, follow up to ensure prompt collections will be required, as well as appropriately booking the transactions into the General Ledger and related accounts. The ideal candidate will consistently demonstrate that they clearly understand reinsurance relationships, are intimately familiar with the accounting issues relating to assigned accounts, and is consistently able to independently manage their workload. A minimum of 8 years of previous experience is required in either ceded or assumed reinsurance accounting. Experience with Captives is a plus, as well as a degree in Accounting, Finance, Insurance or a CPA.
