Sr. Staff Accountant

 

Information Technology company located in Troy, MI, is seeking an experienced Staff Accountant.  This position is directly responsible for general ledger maintenance, the preparation and accuracy of monthly financial statements, coordination of year-end audit, monthly reconciliations and account analysis.

 

 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

 

Oversees transaction input through financial reporting

 

Ensures accurate account analysis and reconciliations

 

Prepares and reviews monthly financial statements

 

Maintains insurance records, coordinates audits and renewals

 

Records fixed asset purchases, files yearly property tax returns

 

Provides system administration for accounting software

 

Coordinates year-end audit with outside CPA firm

 

Maintains financial security by defining accounting policies and procedures

 

Guides other Departments through research and interpretation of accounting data and policy

 

Consistently seeks ways to improve and promote quality and efficiency throughout the Company

 

 

 



Qualifications

 

A qualified candidate will have a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and 5+ years related experience.  Candidate will have a proven track record of accomplishments and increased job responsibilities.  Strong problem-solving and computer skills are a must.  Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task and excellent verbal and written communication skills are also necessary to succeed in this position.
