Staff Accountant, General Ledger

 

The Situation

Autobytel, Inc. a leading Internet Automotive marketing services company, located in Irvine, CA. is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant. 

 The Position

Reporting to the Accounting Manager the Staff Accountant, General Ledger is responsible for the reconciliation of bank accounts, assist in the month-end and year-end close, prepare and analyze financial statements for conformance to company requirements and laws, and generally accepted accounting principles, maintain records and verifies the accuracy of computations, prepares and ensures accuracy of sales tax returns prior to submission to immediate supervisor and/or governmental agencies and work on special projects as needed.

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications: 

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or equivalent work experience;

Minimum of 3 years experience in an accounting role;

Extensive technical knowledge of accounting standards and principles;

Proficiency in PC based software/windows applications such as Microsoft Office products ? Excel, Microsoft Outlook; 

Experience using a client-based accounting system preferred.  Experience with Great Plains Dynamics and FRX Report Writer a plus; 

Public Accounting experience is a plus;

Must be extremely detail-oriented and organized;

Strong ten-key skills required;

Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills;

Ability to meet strict deadlines;

Able to work overtime as needed.
