Staff Accountant - Entry Level

Our client is a leader in commercial banking.  Currently seeking a staff accountant. Responsibilities include: GAAP and SEC financial processing including: financial statement consolidation, quarterly earnings release preparation and coordination, SEC filings including 10-Q, 10-K, 8-K, proxy statement and annual report coordination.  In addition you will handle accounting and reporting research (GAAP and SEC related), maintain Fixed asset system and depreciation entries, assist in monitoring internal controls and coordinating on-going processes (Sarbanes-Oxley), supporting preparation of various federal, state, and local taxes, working with both internal and external auditors and examiners and supporting special projects such as analyzing tax opportunities and developing new reporting processes.

Candidates must have a Bachelors Degree in Accounting from a recognized accounting program with a minimum GPA of 3.5 and 0-2 years of public accounting/auditing experience with a top-tier or second-tier firm. A successful candidate must also be a CPA or pursuing CPA. Solid analytical and quantitative skills, outstanding communication and interpersonal skills are required. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word are also required. Salary/Pay Rate: $40-$50K
