Staff Accountant/Financial Analyst

 

High growth, fast paced, position with responsibilities for monthly accounting cycle functions as well as analytical, project-oriented and development activities.  Monthly accounting functions include preparing financial statements, reporting and analysis; providing general ledger analysis, maintenance and reconciliation of accounts; and interfacing with operations management on current operations and profitability.  The scope of responsibilities each month includes a number of business profit centers which may include one or multiple business lines within the organization.

 

The position is also responsible for contributing to other finance-related work, analysis and projects. Some training and exposure to, the areas of taxation, risk management, treasury, due diligence and investment analysis. 



 

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

?  Develop, manage and maintain a process for effectively communicating with operations and other departments within the organization;

 

?  Identify process improvements, efficiencies and reporting enhancements to increase productivity and business understanding;

 

?  Prepare financial statements, reporting and analysis for assigned profit centers, ensuring the completeness and correctness of the financial results each month;

 

?  Maintain the respective general ledger accounts, reconcile account balances and resolve issues arising from operational transactions;

 

?  Participate as a business partner with operations management to improve profitability, and provide financial analytical support to the profit center team;

 

?  Apply skills and critical thinking abilities to contribute to the accomplishment of company priorities that may lie outside the normal accounting function;

 

?  Develop knowledge and expertise in areas of taxation, risk management, treasury, due diligence and investment analysis to increase contribution and value to the company.

 

?  Maximize the use of technology to improve information, processes and efficiencies.

 

 

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS

 Experience Requirements

 

The successful candidate will have 2-3 years of accounting experience typically covering both public accounting and private industry.  Demonstration of creating value beyond monthly closing and bookkeeping functions is essential.  Strong knowledge of GAAP and ability to think critically is required.  Experience with SAP is not required but would be a plus.

 

 

Educational Requirements

 

Bachelor?s degree from an accredited institution in accounting or finance.  CPA designation is preferred.
