Staff Accountant - Great Location in SF's Financial District (1 block to BART)

The San Francisco Examiner is currently looking for a qualified Staff Accountant to join our Finance team located at our Mission Street office.  The Staff Accountant reports to our Controller and will be in charge of maintaining the General Ledger, conducting Advertising Revenue analysis and reporting as well as assisting with month-end closing.

 

The Examiner is looking for someone who is intelligent, confident, able to multi task, flexible, reliable, a self-starter with strong communication skills, well organized and very attentive to details.  Most of all, we are looking for someone who is a team player.

 

The ideal candidate will possess a B.S. in Accounting with 3 ? 5 years of General Ledger accounting experience with automated systems.  Experience with JD Edwards accounting systems would be a plus.  The candidate should also have experience with bank account and general ledger account reconciliation; extensive knowledge of MS Office applications, particularly Excel spreadsheets; Strong analytical skills, including quantitative analysis; and, proven technical understanding of accrual accounting, GAACP and its application.
