Staff Accountant - White Plains, NY (2 positions)

Position Summary:

This position is responsible for the company?s monthly financial statement preparation and accuracy as well as balance sheet account analysis, variance analysis, accruals preparation.



Responsibilities:

?Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this position assists with the preparation of the company?s Monthly Financial Package, which includes extensive review and explanation of variances to the business plan.; ?Staff Accountant will also be responsible for balance sheet account analysis and accrual preparation;

?Identify accounting issues, research solutions and summarize resolution;

?Prepare complete, accurate and timely reports for Senior Management;

?Perform a variety of special projects as assigned by management.

?Interact with Systems team to provide data, analysis and feedback as needed in conjunction with ongoing upgrade of the Company?s financial systems;

?Identify, define and recommend system improvements;

?Prepare and review information requested by internal and external auditors, and be proactive in clearing open items.



Requirements:

?BS in Accounting/Finance;

?Fluency in GAAP required. CPA preferred;

?1 to 3 years of public/private accounting experience;

?Strong analytical and organizational skills;

?Proven ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines, often with little supervision;

?High proficiency in Microsoft Excel;

?Solid knowledge of Great Plains or similar accounting package;

?Knowledge of SAP helpful;

?Excellent oral and written communication skills;

?Fast paced industry experience;

?Must be able to interact with all levels of management as well as with outside auditors, agencies and vendors.
