Staff Accountant to $50k+ - Education

Job Description: A. Position Summary: Private independent K-8 school seeks Staff Accountant to work in the Business Office and learn all aspects of school business management, including but not limited to:
. Accounting functions--A/R, A/P, G/L, banking, reconciliations, budgeting, monthly report preparation, and annual audit support.
. Human Resources-process new employees, prepare payroll, administer benefits plans
. Enrollment Contracts & Financial Aid-process student enrollment contracts and set up tuition billing; prepare forms & process applications for financial aid
. Risk management, facilities and contract administration; interface with insurance brokers; track vendors' and contractor's contract compliance

B. Qualifications and Experience

. Candidate must have Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or business and a minimum of 5 years' related work experience. Proficiency with Quickbooks Pro, Filemaker Pro, Microsoft Office, internet researching and online banking experience are preferred
. Candidate must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills; must be well organized, energetic and adept at multi-tasking; must be detail oriented, analytical and a good problem-solver; must be a team player and maintain a cheerful and helpful attitude toward all members of the school community
. Candidate must support the school's mission and goals and maintain strict confidentiality.

C. Compensation and Work Environment

. Salary determination depends on experience, education, qualifications, and references.
. Will assist and report to the school's Director of Business Operations and interact with all members of the school community: faculty, staff, parents and students, as well as with suppliers, vendors, and subcontractors.
