Staff Accountant to $57k+ - Managed Care

Job Description: - Accounting Responsibilities Duties may include:
1. Review, analyze and verification of various business transactions including all revenues, expenses, and accruals.
2. Preparation of journal entries
3. Review monthly general ledger for accuracy with and provide periodic updates, variance analysis and performance reports to Controller and Associate Chief of Finance
4. Provide assistance by supporting Managed Care accounting efforts as directed
5. Provide support to Controller and Associate Chief of Finance with Annual Financial Audits, Contract Audits, and any additional audits as necessary.
- Perform monitoring and analysis of Managed Care contracts. Responsibilities include reconciling differences in actual payments vs. estimated payments and establishing systems to monitor payments from managed care companies to compare with contracted rates. Will perform a wide variety of special projects and data gathering functions as well as developing reports as necessary.
- Prepare specialized reports, analysis and financial models; present results of analysis.
- Liaison with Managed Care department staff.
- Review month-end financial reports, construct financial statements, provide variance analysis, research financial irregularities, and use the analysis to develop meaningful financial reporting.
- Coordinate and develop ad hoc analysis as required Education and/or Experience
Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Accounting from four-year college or university and two to five years related experience, preferably in health care, and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
