Staff Accountant with Great Plains Experience Needed!!!

Summary: To perform the daily functions of the Accounting Department, which includes all facets of accounts receivable, accounts payable and general journal entries and to assist with the month end closing process.

Duties & Responsibilities:

????????? Perform all facets of accounts payable (e.g. code and enter invoices, monitor payables and timing of payments, check disbursements and handle questions/problems with outside vendors).

????????? Send 1099?s to appropriate vendors at year end.

????????? Maintain and update the purchase order file.

????????? Compare charges on employee expense reports to receipts and enter in accounts payable.

????????? Perform all facets of accounts receivable (e.g. enter all sales in accounts receivable, set-up customers into the Checkfree Electronic Money system for all charge card/automatic draft transactions, prepare deposit slip for cash receipts and deliver to the bank, enter cash receipts into the accounting system).

????????? Calculate monthly commissions, set-up commission in the accounting system and reconcile accrued commissions at month end.

????????? Maintain check register and update daily.?

????????? Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.

????????? Assist with month end closing.

????????? Assist with special projects.

Qualifications/Skills:

????????? Strong computer skills - Excel experience required (Great Plains Dynamics and Word experience a plus)

????????? Detail oriented, accurate data entry skills and strong organizational skills

????????? Good written and oral communication skills

????????? Candidate must be pleasant, self-motivated and a team player

?

Education and/or Experience Needed:

???????? Accounting Degree preferred and 3 years experience required
