Staff Attorney I

SUMMARY OVERVIEW Review and provide both legal and business advice for a variety of corporate and business matters.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
?Draft, negotiate and review a broad range of contract and corporate documents under supervision of Senior Counsel.
?Draft, negotiate and review leases and other real estate related matters.
?Answer questions from business staff on legal and business issues.
?Escalate issues to Senior Counsel.
?Provide interpretation of statutes, regulations and legal procedures.
?Conduct legal research.
?Prepare responses to requests for information and subpoenas.
?Manage outside counsel.
?Provide legal advice and guidance on domestic and foreign labor and employment issues.
?Monitor and manage various types of claims and litigation.
?Represent the Corporation in court and administrative hearings.
?Provide legal support to Corporate Development merger and acquisition activity.
?Provide legal support to Corporation?s Finance Department.
?Adhere to all safety and health rules and regulations associated with this position and as directed by supervisor.
?Comply and follow all procedures within the company security policy.


JOB REQUIREMENTS

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Undergraduate and law degrees, and admission to the Florida Bar or other state bar membership and Florida Authorized In-House Counsel Certification. Experience in SEC, merger & acquisition, corporate governance, and general corporate and contract matters, including the ability to independently draft and negotiate manufacturing, supply and/or design agreements. Ability to travel as required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS
Advanced PC skills, including training and knowledge of Jabil?s software packages. Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence, including memos and e-mail. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Must be capable of concisely and effectively presenting information to top management, public groups, and the board of directors. Ability to timely respond to inquiries or complaints from management, customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs

REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must be able to simultaneously perform multiple tasks and work effectively and independently under pressure and respond to constantly changing demands, priorities and deadlines.

Individual may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision using PC monitor, and reading of a variety of materials.
