State Tax Analyst

 

Harsco, a Pennsylvania-based, diversified Fortune 1000 Company has an opening at its worldwide headquarters for a state tax analyst.  Reporting directly to the Director of Domestic Tax, this position will be involved in all aspects of state income tax for a multinational industrial service company. 

 

Responsibilities:

 Help prepare the State tax provision calculation including all work papers and schedules necessary to support the financial statements and footnotes. Assist in computing state effective tax rate. Assist in state tax planning and restructuring.Prepare state tax returns, estimates and extensions.Responsible for corporate office state account reconciliations Research state tax issues at a moderate level of complexity.Assist with state income tax audits.Assist in sales tax audits. Responsible for state tax notices for franchise/ annual reports/ business licenses.Monitor state legislation, court cases, etc. Assist in federal and state insurance premium tax returns. Assist in federal tax returns and tax provision. Assist in SOX 404 documentation for state tax purposes. Responsible for preparation of state income tax apportionment.

 

Broad exposure to federal and state income taxation, excellent organizational and verbal/written communication skills, desire to initiate change, acts proactively, takes charge, responds with a sense of urgency, and drives execution throughout the organization. Selected candidate must be able to multi-task and have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.

 

Bachelor's degree, preferably with an emphasis in accounting or finance, advanced degree in tax is preferred. A minimum of 3-6 years of relevant tax experience or equivalent experience in business or industry required.  CPA or Masters degree a plus.
