State & Local Tax Mgr - Newly Created Role!

Successful candidate will manage state and local income tax efficiently for global manufacturer. This is a newly-created role for an expanding department. 

 

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Manage the state and local domestic tax compliance function and serve as a liaison between the divisions and the Corporate Office Tax Department.  Responsible for managing and reviewing the preparation of state & local tax returns; review and coordinate the information used in preparing the state & local installments and extension used by management to determine state & local tax payments, which can be in excess of $26.0 million annually; Responsible for monitoring changes in tax laws and regulations for all states; assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies; manage and train tax professionals; establish and implement procedures for the accurate preparation of state & local income tax returns; assure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley requirements. Will supervise staff of two.

REQUIREMENTS:
Ideally seeking a minimum of 6 to 8 years of state tax experience, with five years of supervisory experience, in a large corporate tax department or the tax group of a national public accounting firm.  Extensive PC and systems experience/proficiency is required (CorpTax preferred).
