State and Local Tax Director

Job Description -- PricewaterhouseCoopers is seeking a Director to lead the SALT (Income and Franchise speciality) practice in the Pittsburgh office. This position will provide opportunities to be exposed to and deal with a variety of state and local tax issues ranging from multi-state income tax planning, restructuring, due diligence, to audit defense and audit management for companies with a presence in multiple taxing jurisdictions. Work will focus on project and people management, in multi-state tax initiatives, especially dealing with the state of Pennsylvania. This position will work closely with the Pittsburgh office Partners and the SALT Sales & Use Tax Director in leading the SALT I/F practice.

Job Requirement Essential

A strong educational and technical (Income/Franchise) tax background in tax research, consulting, and compliance as it relates to multistate tax specialties. Successful candidates will have 10 plus years of experience, with prior experience with a professional tax services firm. Additional years of experience can be from industry, law practice, and/or governmental agency. Client service orientation combined with creative problem solving skills; strong written and oral communication skills; strong computer skills; the ability to work effectively as part of a team, yet function well with independent responsibilities. Highly motivated to take the initiative for own personal growth and development. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks. Ability to interact successfully with clients and PwC professionals to effectively deliver quality tax services. He/she will be responsible for managing state tax engagements including day-to-day consulting; development of ideas, strategies and opportunities and implementation of these ideas. Additionally, the successful candidate will be involved in marketing/selling efforts. This individual will also be leveraging work to staff personnel and responsible for developing and supervising the staff.
