Supervising Senior Accountant

Summary: The Supervising Senior Accountant will be responsible for various accounting duties working with 1-2 accountants to supervise. Assignments may include operational accounting with preparation of period end journal entries, analyzing operating expenses and explaining variances; and general ledger account analysis and reconciliation.

Specific Responsibilities (depending on rotational assignment):
" Reconcile General Ledger Accounts and research to ensure accuracy
" Prepare Period End Journal Entries
" Perform Variance Analysis for financial statement accounts [store level & consolidated]
" Research and resolve store inquiries
" Prepare Schedules for the Accounting Package
" Review Bullet Report, SEC filings, and MD&A for quantitative accuracy
" Distribute final reports
" Ad hoc analysis as requested/required
" Management reporting & analysis

Education / Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance with two years experience. Restaurant experience is a plus. CPA required.

Communication Skills:
Possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret financial reports, as well as write reports and business correspondence.

Technical Skills:
Ability to apply, analyze, interpret and record business transactions according to generally accepted accounting principles. Handle multi-tasks simultaneously, with excellent attention to detail. Possess analytical skills. Last and most important, must demonstrate a commitment to the pursuit of quality work.

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to think independently to solve practical problems and present solutions. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

Other Skills:
Knowledge of Excel, Word and other software programs
