Supervisor, Fund Accounting

A Chicago-based financial service client is seeking a Supervisor of Fund Accounting.  This individual will be responsible for ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of the mutual funds activities, including calculation of net asset value (price) and distribution factors, and assisting in preparation of financial statements and regulatory filings. Specific duties will include:

1. Monitoring procedures and controls within the team.
2. Providing guidance to associates on a daily basis.
3. Problem solving and issue resolution for the team.
4. Reviewing and approving team work within departmental/client guidelines.
5. Ensuring accuracy and timely distribution of work product.
6. Assisting in the facilitation of audits.
7. Leading and participating in special projects and client requests.
8. Interviewing, hiring and providing performance management of team members.
9. Writing evaluations for team members on an annual or as-needed basis.
10. Supporting and implementing departmental initiatives.
11. Participating in development and facilitation of departmental training courses.

The successful candidate will possess the following:

> Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or business-related area.
> Minimum of 3 years mutual fund industry-related experience.

> Previous supervisory experience.
> Previous experience working with Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Word).
> Solid communication and interpersonal skills.
> Effective industry and project management skills.
> High quality customer service.
> Ability to identify, assess and develop controls and procedures necessary to ensure quality products.
