One of St. Louis? finest public accounting firms is in need of a Technical Issues Manager.

This individual will be looked at as is a key participant in the quality control process of the Assurance Services department. This position will serve as technical resource for engagement teams to assist in the application of professional standards and internal policies.  This position will have no direct client responsibilities.

Major Responsibilities

 Research complex accounting and auditing issues and consult with client engagement teams.Maintain, continually evaluate and recommend updates to the firm?s electronic accounting and auditing manual.Maintain, continually evaluate and recommend updates to the firm?s audit work program content and audit methodology.Review certain client engagement documentation and work papers for accuracy and compliance with firm policies and professional standards, including issues memos, financial statements and related disclosures.Assist in organizing and instructing quarterly department-wide technical training.Development of Team Members:

? Motivate and be respected by subordinates.

? Demonstrate positive contributions to firm?s recruitment, education, development, and retention efforts.

? Serve as a Mentor, Advisor, and Career Development Coordinator (CDC)

? Provide Team Members with timely and candid feedback ? supporting the firm?s performance management process.

 Preferred Experience/Background/Skills?  Bachelors degree in Accounting or related degree.Ten or more years of applicable experience.Experience with large national accounting firm preferred.CPA designation (required).Superior knowledge of general accounting and auditing including skills knowledge plus the application of general theory.Ability to research technical issues and document results.Ability to instruct individuals and large groups.Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel required).Excellent verbal and written communication skills.Strict adherence to professional ethics.Ability to successfully contribute to the success of a strategic business unit of the firm.

 Working ConditionsThe typical office hours are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  Ability to work extra hours as determined by the workload and client expectations.Travel for this position will be minimal.Ability to sit for long periods of time.Ability to move throughout office. Ability to lift, carry, push, pull up to 30-50 pounds.Ability to speak English to communicate with clients, team members, etc.
