Tax Accountant Team Leader

  Prepare and file a variety of tax forms and returns, including; information forms, fiduciary, individual, charitable, payroll, federal and state tax returns.  Review registers, estimates and tax in preparation of tax season.  Perform monthly review of trust transactions and make any changes in the tax database.  Review and revise, as necessary, quarterly federal and state fiduciary estimated tax payments for trusts and foundations.  Answer correspondence received from various taxing authorities.  Interpret trust documents and verify tax coding information on accounting systems.  Perform other duties as required by supervisor/manager.  Prepare reports for use by internal clients.  Assist with tax return audits.  Answer questions from clients regarding tax related issues.  Advise Portfolio Manager regarding tax implications which could affect the management of their assigned accounts.  Assist with review of tax returns, worksheets, estimates and registers for assigned team members.  Attend client meetings.  Participates in new business efforts.  Research and analyze tax problems and new or proposed changes in tax law and regulations.

 

Undergraduate degree in business or equivalent work experience.  Minimum of four to five years tax or related fiduciary experience.  Excellent PC skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office, Excel and Access.  Experience with tax software.  Database experience helpful, as well as online research experience.  Strong analytical skills.
